Summer Mummers is now closed for the season. We want to thank everyone who came out this year and had a good time with us. We will return next year with a new show.
The next event coming up in October at the Yucca is Dracula. This will be a special two day show. Check with MCT (see link) about tickets for this show.

UPDATE: There is now a new contact form and the photo and store sections are still in the works. If you have suggestions or content for the site, please click on "contact" at the bottom of the page and use the new form. One project we are working on for the future is profiles for cast and crew. If you are a member of the cast or crew you can send information with your photo, to max (at) Sketchfactory.net

The Photos and Store pages are going to be developed further this week and so please ignore any quirks. We are working on making this site easily managed so new and exciting content can be continually added.

The New Curtain

The 59th season of SummerMummers was the retirement year for the curtain painted by Art Cole. The original curtain was installed when the mummers moved to the Yucca Theatre. It complemented the set built by Bill Larkin in 1981.

The iconic curtain style will be carried on in the new one painted this year by set designer Eric Beek. The ads were hand painted by Duryn Sandburg, Marcy Sandburg, Laura Abbott, Tiffany Henley, Connie Barnes, and others.

Mummers Reunion Night

Calling all former mummers! Have you moved away or just cant seem to work in a schedule for volunteering for Mummers this year? We would still love to see you at least once this summer. Even if you cant make it this year please visit the contacts page and update your information so we can put you on the mailing list for MCT and Summer Mummers. Or just come on down and see all your old friends and make some new. See this years show "Felonious Follies on the Fairway" by our own Staci (Lumby) LaPlante. The Melodrama is a unique theatrical experience, invented in the USA. Nobody does it quite as uniquely as The Summer Mummers, the oldest existing organization of its kind in the country. The Summer Mummers provide their own brand of entertainment to thousands of patrons each summer, while providing the Midland Community Theatre (MCT) with a substantial portion of their yearly operating budget.

The Summer Mummers are an all-volunteer group. From the producers and directors to the popcorn sellers, each and every one is there giving of their time and energy to help out. Of course the fact that they have a great time makes it something that keeps them coming back, many of them for decades!
