The original curtain was installed when the mummers moved to the Yucca Theatre. It complemented the set built by Bill Larkin in 1981.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The iconic curtain style will be carried on in the new one painted this year by set designer Eric Beek. Nobody does it quite as uniquely as The Summer Mummers, the oldest existing organization of its kind in the country. &lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;The Summer Mummers&lt;/span&gt; provide their own brand of entertainment to thousands of patrons each summer, while providing the Midland Community Theatre (MCT) with a substantial portion of their yearly operating budget.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Summer Mummers are an all-volunteer group. From the producers and directors to the popcorn sellers, each and every one is there giving of their time and energy to help out.
